House Host & Experience Guide
Oxmoor Bourbon Company is hiring someone to work as a House Host & Experience Guide. We are looking for an individual who wants to learn and share the history of bourbon as a category, and Kentucky as bourbon’s home, through the story of Oxmoor farm and five generations of the Bullitt family. Oxmoor Bourbon Company offers an amazing opportunity to share authentic, never-before-seen whiskey history in a beautiful, historic setting.

Overview
- Position: House Host & Experience Guide
- Part-time position Tuesday-Saturday.
- Hours will vary
- Hours of operation are as follows: Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 – 6:00
- This position is classified as hourly, non-exempt under the FLSA.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in guests for tours and tastings.
- Check guests’ IDs to confirm legal drinking age of 21.
- Give daily tours of the house and tell the story of bourbon’s history through education and tastings.
- Maintain the knowledge to answer questions regarding our history and that of the bourbon category.
- Prepare punches and batched cocktails for service.
- Tend bar in library for tour guests.
- Work the gift shop (register, customer greeting, tour purchases, etc.).
- Maintain and execute the highest health standards, sanitation and cleanliness in the beverage/bar area to meet local, state and government guidelines.
- Strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and driving while under the influence.
- Ensure a clean, safe environment for all guests and staff.
- Participate in continuous training and educational opportunities offered by Oxmoor Bourbon Company.
- Take the company-paid course and become a Certified Bourbon Steward.
- Arrive to work on time as scheduled.
- Friendly and professional demeanor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be a self-motivated and a strong team player.
- Willing to learn new skills.
- Ability to speak and write fluent English.
- Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills.
- Positive attitude necessary.
- Must have problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work enthusiastically with a wide demographic of guests.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
Essential Physical Requirements
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
- Frequently required to stand and walk for at least an hour at a time; occasionally sits.
- Reaches, bends, and stoops frequently.
- Ability to kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and smell.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to determine wait time based on Visitor Experience procedures.
- Frequent washing of hands.
- Frequent exposure to fluctuating temperatures indoors and outdoors.
- Mobility to climb stairs.
